Yes.
Unfortunately that is not always easy or possible. Where the web site
is hosted by a third party provider on virtual servers, the provider
may specify that the 'www' hostname in the (customer) domain be a
CNAME to their server. In these circumstances it is non-trival to
replace the CNAME by A.
