Microsoft Ready to Assert IP rights over the internet?

If anything, this goes to show the absurdity of Microsoft. Now we can say to
those wanting to implement Sender ID:
Sure, go ahead and license your technology with Microsoft. See, by doing so,
you will end up licensing all the other internet technology as well. Who
knows but they'll say, "If you want to license Sender ID, you have to
license everything else we think we own as well." They are exerting IP
rights over the foundations for the internet. They want a license from you
just to connect one computer to another, or just for giving a computer a
name. So go ahead and license with Microsoft; they'll be happy to license
you for the right to use the internet as well.
OR you could use classic SPF, which isn't encumbered by any patents or
licenses. Using SPF will send a message to Microsoft that you aren't going
to hand over your rights on a silver platter and thank Microsoft for the
right to send email. Using SPF will weaken Microsoft's exertion over the
internet.
Don't play ball with Microsoft. It's obvious they don't want a fair game.
