Subject: [spf-discuss] MS may have fixed their SenderID/SPF wizard
Yesterday, I checked, and it appears that MS has fixed at least one
obvious problem with their SPF RR wizard. (It would generate
a:1.2.3.4 instead of ip4:1.2.3.4)
The wizard can be found at:
http://www.anti-spamtools.org/SenderIDEmailPolicyTool/Default.aspx
I have not done extensive testing, so I encourage others to check it
to see if there are still problems with it.
Nope - it's still broken - here's a v=spf1 record I created on some spare
domains of mine --
v=spf1 a mx ip4:193.110.88.66 mx:miranda.argyllnet.co.uk ip4:193.110.88.60
ip4:idimo.com ip4:argyllnet.com mx:idimo.com mx:argyllnet.com -all
spf2.0/pra ?all
And for interest - here it is for PRA only -
spf2.0/pra a mx ip4:193.110.88.66 mx:miranda.argyllnet.co.uk
ip4:193.110.88.60 ip4:idimo.com ip4:argyllnet.com mx:idimo.com
mx:argyllnet.com -all
And here's what they say for "both" -
v=spf1 a mx ip4:193.110.88.66 mx:miranda.argyllnet.co.uk ip4:193.110.88.60
ip4:idimo.com ip4:argyllnet.com mx:idimo.com mx:argyllnet.com -all
So it looks like they are just going to cannibalise the existing v=spf1
records for PRA regardless -- unless the million or so domain owners add
spf2.0/pra ?all
/me adds spf2.0/pra ?all - so that's only 999,999 to go ;-)
