You are confusing rfc2821.mailfrom with rfc2822.sender.  

MailFrom is where return notices go, and it is not required to have anything at 
all to do with the venue from which posting is performed.  In fact bounce 
processing requirements sometimes dictate that it be quite different from From 
or Sender.

Setting the Sender field to reflect the posting venue would not be unreasonable.
