I'm relating e-mail and SIP because they both use

Then what about:
http://user:password(_at_)www(_dot_)example(_dot_)org
Message-ID:
<whatever-abcd_ef01_xyz-server01(_at_)outmail(_dot_)example(_dot_)org>
slogin user(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)org
I'm sure others can come up with more examples.
However, should SPF be used for SIP, it is just another host address
to add. Chances are the ip4 mechanism works fine.
Perhaps the future brings faxes to smtp:1234567890(_at_)example(_dot_)org and
voicemail to voip:1234567890(_at_)example(_dot_)org, who knows. It's not that
silly to compare telephone_number(_at_)example(_dot_)org with a mailbox IMHO.
Just be aware that "@" doesn't mean mailbox.
