fundamental advantage to an extra layer (a registry?) on top of SPF?
yes: your additional level can provide additional information. The
RAPNAP system,
which currently is a (gaak) cgi program, is a system that centralizes
C/R to validate
senders not sending from SPF-enabled domains. With a little focus (a
couple compentent
man-weeks, a little squirt of capital) it can shift to replying to DNS
queries, at
which time one will be able to RAPNAP-enable a domain by declaring an SPF record
that kicks all SPF queries for that domain to the RAPNAP server.
Voila, instant roaming
capability based on a c/r whenever your users change their outbound
mail servers,
and centralized, too.
