One more question:
How hard would it be for a large domain to simply consolidate the addresses
of all its mail servers into one IP block? If those servers are
distributed all over the world, is there a problem assigning to each server
whatever IP address you want? I can guess there might be some additional
fragmentation of routing tables, but I don't know how serious that problem
might be.
