Thank you for an excellent post summarizing events and understandings
of events prior to and after the MARID Working Group closure. While
there was some confusion as to the best way to approach things, there
was a clear consensus that documenting existing SPF1 implementations
took priority after the collapse of MARID.
There was also a general understanding (if not a clearly stated
consensus) that future SPF versions would fall under the purview of
the SPF Council, the sole possible exception being that MS and
associated organizations would continue to use SPF2.0/PRA. There was
also discussion as to whether SPF (council) would skip version 2.0 for
Unified because of MS use of it for PRA but no clear decision as the
priority was to nail down SPF1 first.
