As IETF today sent notice about approval of SID and SPF drafts for

agree with IETF decisions (on SID) should proceed with actions such as
appeals to IETF Chair individually.

I agree that we, the SPF community, needs to consider what to do. I
did send an email to Ted and the IESG about this, but that was mostly
just to make it clear that any pause in a reply from the SPF community
means we are thinking things over, not that we have accepted things as
they are.

I have a question for anyone who might know the answer: Does approval
of an "experimental" draft as an RFC still allow us to get an RR type
for adding "SPF" type records in DNS?

My understanding is that the IANA will create new RR number for SPF.
Not that I'm holding my breath that it will be functional before the
end of the decade, but that's another subject.

Similarly, the IANA will record the Received-SPF header.
