Hi (about the appeals)
AFAIK it's AD for WGs, then IETF Chair for IESG decisions,
IAB for "process failures" (on a sitefinder.versisign level),
and finally ISOC for a complete breakdown of all checks and
balances. Courts don't enter the picture, unless it's about
corruption.
