Hi (about the appeals)

AFAIK it's AD for WGs, then IETF Chair for IESG decisions,
IAB for "process failures"

Whether or not file appeal with IAB would probably depend on the
wording of the answer given by IESG to the current appeals. You
can't easily appeal to IAB for technical failure and incompatibilities, but you can appeal to IAB for failure to follow IETF rules (i.e. it would be more of procedural appeal if done to IAB rather then technical one as done to IETF). Though given the people current at IAB, they are
lot more likely to not want SID on the technical level, but they can't
rule it out on this issue if I understand IETF system. IAB appeals are
rare thing though (note that IESG appeals are that common either...)

(on a sitefinder.versisign level),

That was ICANN security advisory comittee (or something like that
named) which shares some people with IAB but is not the same.

and finally ISOC for a complete breakdown of all checks and
balances.

I don't see how IAB's decisions can be appealed to ISOC.

Courts don't enter the picture, unless it's about corruption.

Yes, please stay away from courts on this matter.
