Sorry for the no-subject post and rant. My anger got the better of me.

Speaking of Address Verification. I've been experimenting with it in
Postfix, VERY EFFECTIVE! The only drawback being that not all servers
answer the probes correctly and some subscription based email, for
example from mailing lists, put a bogus address in the Return-Path,
which results in a few false-positives.
But at least it's not as invasive as these other systems that require
action on the part of the sender.
Anyway, enough on this subject, it's not SPF related after all.
