No - you are not alone!

You are so VERY not alone! Google deserves a lot of credit for
standing up to a world full of icons and symbols and instead
showcasing the power that has existed in text since (anyone care to
throw a number in here?) Not that a lot of us were not already aware
of this, prefering to shell our way into Vi before double clicking 4
symbolic levels of folders and files and whatever else might be
standing in between us and the file we want before being allowed
access to it. But without Google showcasing the fact that there was
just as much profit (if not more) in text as their was in the Flashing
christmas tree light ads of the mide late 90's, building success
around such a simplistic and cost effective technique I can only
imagine the Flash-based hell we would be living in had they not chosen
such a bold approach to their business model.

Tool-tips give the game away here - what's the point of graphical
symbols, when you need a textual reminder as to what they mean.

No - you are not alone!
