<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
    xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform";
    xmlns:a="atg.uwe.ac.uk"
    xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml";
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^      <!-- change here xhtml

no that doesn't work, as I said in my earlier reply you need a prefix in
the stylesheet

<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
    xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform";
    xmlns:a="atg.uwe.ac.uk"
    xmlns:h="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml";
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

and then /h:html/h:body/h:div[(_at_)id='whatever']
