Aaron, you still haven't posted a sample of your input XML/HTML.

Nevertheless, the reason you're getting <head> etc in your output is
because
you have what amounts to an identity template in your XSL sheet.

With this XML:

<html>
  <head>
    <title>Example</title>
  </head>

  <body>
  <div>
    <h1>Example</h1>
    <table>
      <tr>
        <td></td>
        <td>Something #1</td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td>Somthing #2</td>
        <td />
      </tr>
    </table>
  </div>
  </body>
</html>

This XSL:

<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform";
        version="1.0">
    <xsl:output method="html" />

    <xsl:template match="/">
        <xsl:copy-of select="html/body/div"/>
    </xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>

Will copy just the div. Of course, you may then want to transform
specific
nodes inside the div ... in which case I suggest you post a small sample
of
your input XML/HTML

Hi...

Further to my request yesterday, I have managed to get my xsl to look
at
html and process it to the portal...

...but one small bug remains.

I only want the contents of the div to be extracted, and not the html
elements above and below (head, body etc...)

Has any one got any suggestions please?

Stylesheet:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform";
xmlns:a="atg.uwe.ac.uk"
exclude-result-prefixes="a">
<xsl:output indent="yes" method="html" omit-xml-declaration="yes"/>

<xsl:template match="div[(_at_)id = 'announcements']">
      <xsl:apply-templates select="div[(_at_)id = 'announcements']"/>
</xsl:template>

<xsl:template match="*|@*|comment()|processing-instruction()|text()">
      <xsl:copy>
              <xsl:apply-templates
select="*|@*|comment()|processing-instruction()|text()"/>
      </xsl:copy>
</xsl:template>

</xsl:stylesheet>

html:

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"; xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>
  <title>Announcements</title>
  <link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet"
href="http://my.uwe.ac.uk/uPortal/media/org/jasig/portal/layout/AL_TabC
o
lumn/integratedModes/myuwe/skin/myuwe.css"/>
</head>
<body>

<div id="announcements">

<h1>myUWE System Announcements</h1>

<p>Module Marks are now available for the following modules:</p>

<table>
<tr><td>UZYRKF-40-3</td><td>Advanced Radiotherapy Studies</td></tr>
<tr><td>UZYRKC-30-3</td><td>Evaluating Physiotherapy &amp;

<tr><td>UZYRJN-40-2</td><td>Developing Clinical Reasoning &amp;

<tr><td>UZYRJR-20-2</td><td>Fieldwork 2</td></tr>
