RE: [xsl] XSLT transformation using counters

I'm using the <xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes"> because I want the angle 
bracket in the output file.

ex. <hd1>

Otherwise I get:

&lt;hd1&gt;

probably (it depends what you want) you just want

<xsl:attribute name="something">
<xsl:number/>
</xsl:attribute>


xsl:number has a lot of attributes to control what exactly is counted 
and how it is displayed, but teh above is a start.

<xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes">

It is almost always wrong, and always non-portable and fragile, to use 
disable-output-escaping.
