The sendmail.cf file is the one I transported from my desktop (where it was
working fine) to my laptop. I haven't made any changes to it; its got
default factory settings from RedHat.
Hmmm, are both using the same version of Sendmail? The "correct" method is
to rebuild sendmail.cf from sendmail.mc if you're moving across versions or
systems.
It sounds like you've got a deeper problem than simply fetchmail. It could
be link issues. Are you using the same dialup account on each? If you're
using an external modem can you swap it across to the laptop and try there.
