internationalized messages should not contain the `\r' escape sequence
The files in the po directory generate these.
This is easy to fix by removing the '\r' characters.
Why isn't it done in the distribution? Is there some
benefit from having them, or do some machines require it?
(Maybe just remove it in the systems which don't want it, no?)
Nobody ever pushed me to look at it before -- those files are mainly
handled by translators. I've removed them.
