I have what is a basically always on server acting as my home internet
gateway.
Fetchmail sits as a daemon awaking every 15 minutes and collecting mail for
all the family from the various ISP accounts. It mostly runs for weeks in
this configuration.
What version of fetchmail are you using?
As the man page says, it goes looking for procmail and sendmail if told.
I'd suggest grabbing the latest and building with --enable-fallback=no
(something I'm just about to do...).
