[fetchmail]RE: [MLUG] Virus scanners on gateways.

What are good Virus scanners for E-mail gateways?

Not a virus scanner as such, but a tool to control what type of attachments
may pass through your mail gateway (which is a good complement to a scanner)
is MIMEDefang, which is available at http://www.roaringpenguin.com.

It's a bit of a pain to install (you need a few Perl modules and to
recompile sendmail), but it works well and has saved much more time and
money than it cost to install (and a few arses as well ;) ). Newer versions
also have the capability of running a virus scanner on incoming email.

Even without a virus scanner, MIMEDefang offers a good degree of protection.

P.S. Don't bother trying to send me .EXE files ;).
