Yes, it would, but it is impossible. Even if fetchmail were perfect, it
would still be impossible. Information, namely the envelope recipient
address, has been lost, and fetchmail has no chance to recreate it.
It's as though you had only one large common mail box for a house with
several apartments and the post man would remove the envelope before
dropping the mail. You'll have to communicate with your neighbours (your
other users or mail addresses in your case) and pass the mail forth and
back.
Your only bet is to point the friend whom you have this POP3 account
with to <URL:http://www.sendmail.org/faq/section3.html#3.29> and ask him
if he'll do you this favor, to add the envelope header. I'd tried it
some months ago on FreeBSD 4.something just for the fun of it and to
know if it was clean enough to recommend it, and it worked for me.
