One reason I remember: if fetchmail is started and stopped the "limit"
and "warnings" options doesn't work as expected. Either you get warnings
about oversized messages each time fetchmail is started (in daemon mode)
or you get no warnings at all (fetchmail runs without daemon). For this
to work it is required that the daemon runs *continuously*
