Suppose we gather in force at the next IETF when you aren't looking and decree
that the only supported character set shall be ASCII and JIS. Would you be so
eager to "stick to that"???
If you could get most people to agree to a wacky scheme with ASCII & JIS at
the IETF then I might well be willing to "stick to that". It is, however,
highly unlikely -- one of the advantages of face to face meetings is that
the number of words a person can type/say has much less impact than on
a mailing list.
