Heh. Yes, that's a much more succinct way of making the point that I was
trying and not really succeeding at making.
well, a wild bird sighting report is not a bad thing. and I could also
make analogies with similar kinds of reports that are even more useful -
reports of the Ebola virus, for example.
if that's what people want, fine, but I don't like calling it a registry.
the fact that some things occur frequently in the wild does not
necessarily make it desirable to propagate them further. in some
cases it is an indication that they need to be suppressed or eradicated.
