No. Extensions are not arbitrary modifications. 

Dan, you're simply wrong.  Header fields have been designed that 
modify essentially every aspect of email operation - presentation,
user interface, message retention, MTA handling, automatic responses,
etc.  While they do not generally affect UAs or MTAs that don't
look for them, they do affect the operation of the email system - 
often in disruptive ways.

TCP and UDP ports are just a demultiplexing mechanism.

False. 

You're wrong about this also.  But then again, if I said the sky
was blue, you'd argue that it was green.
