On the contrary, this whole thread started because we have a problem on
Usefor with certain automatically generated local-parts (mail to
moderators). So a solution is needed in the reasonably near future. But
obviously, it is better to do it in conjunction with whatever solution is
adopted for domain names.

Although actually, simply encoding it with RFC 2047 might be a sensible
move. It is not strictly allowed, but we have just seen that lots of
mailers do it, and it would at least ensure the mail for moderators
arrived at a site which had an interest in disentangling it.
