Clearly, in the real world, "CRLF" is a euphemism for whatever the system
concerned uses to distinguish line endings.
the purpose of an interoperability standard is to specify things so that the
idiosyncrasies of individual systems are not a factor. that is the reason for
declaring canonical representations.
people can use "whatever the system concern uses" without bother to
suffer the cost of standards.
