Yes but we can't define bulk mailing as spamming. But we CAN define that
UNSOLICITED bulk email is spamming.

Reality is that you get that quantity of messages because of 
the fact of bulk mailings, and hence bulk mailings are 
relevant -- at least to the extent that reality is relevant.  :-)

To put it another way, if bulk mailing was eliminated, your 
spam problem, along with everyone else's, would be eliminated.
