There are more issues at stake than that.
Pull won't prevent spam, in fact it is more about giving choice to the
recipient and taking it away from the sender
A simple "pull" system may be implemented by layering a notification
scheme on top of SMTP. Once the recipient is notified of a message,
he sends an ACK with other information, and the sender then knows
where to deliver the message.
