When used to protect the email message transport system, DKIM can be
very beneficial at thwarting address hijacking when combined with DoS
protection, and at locating and isolating abusive sources, and
providing opportunistic identification, all without the application
of a highly disruptive SSP email-address authorization scheme. In my
view, the charter should reflect what is being protected. Is it the
transport or an email-address? To protect the email-address, then a
model like OpenPGP or S/MIME should be used.
