RE: Measuring MARID

2004-05-25 17:59:40

I did a lookup for the SPF records of 8877 unique domains incoming to my
system.
Using a very big Solaris box, a shell script, and dig with a grep, my
timing were: 2m5s 3m8s
Out of those 8877 unique domains- 550 had SPF records. 99+% of those
were spam sites.<ugh>

I hope this helps.

Damon Sauer

I may be able to grab a couple of days worth of logs and measure that

 Would this be valuable?

I believe so. Even as an anecdotal data point, it's data which can
be used to talk about the cost of implementing MARID, relative to
filtering.

Without such data, it's all "he said, she said".
