will not and
cannot be compatible with existing S/MIME implementations -- at least
not
unless/until there is a RC2 specification available for public
review.
Just because a few companies (e.g. MS & Netscape) have jumped the gun in
implementing S/MIME before its finished is no reason lock RC2 into the spec
