Interesting. One of the purposes behind having a machine-readable part was to
facilitate this sort of thing. It is nice to hear that someone is actually
doing it.

It isn't nice if the implementation is as broken as the above suggests
(and in my experience Lotus Notes is the worst for mangling messages). Any
guess at a reason based on the status code should be in addition to, not
instead of, the server's human-readable error text. Removing the first
part of a multipart/report message is utterly braindead since it is the
only part of a DSN that can be properly internationalized and therefore
has a chance of being understandable.
