The problem is that the IETF mail server shouldn't be actively
misleading non-spammers about the reason for their mail
rejection.

Did anybody ever get the attention of the people the email
support is outsourced to?

Yes.  Hector and I did.  The response was, in essence, that the
IETF leadership told them to do it.  I've been too busy to
follow up, but watch for a note within the next 24 hours or so
