Marketing pressure on IETF protocols may be business as usual, but
DKIM managed to come out pretty cleanly neutral in this respect,
AFAICS[*].

I think the claim that marketing somehow entered into the guidance of DKIM's 
evolution is specious, and that's being polite.  I've yet to see any evidence 
at all, short of unfounded assertions about the unspoken agendas of the 
participants, to back it up.
