I think your confusion appears to stem from accidental miscommunication.
The term "root" here, from what I can read, is used in the context of "root
causes", not *THE* root in the DNS sense.

Hello: Could someone please state in one message what this thread is about?
I do not understand the relationship between the Root and NN.
(I am probably not alone)
Just a thought

Thanks for that video. That's a great way to get people to understand it,
but the FCC link provided doesn't exactly make it easy to comment. Just an
email address. Not so public. Anyone know a link where the comments can
actually be viewed by the public?

Right now NN is being seen mostly from the supplier end. If overridden,
it will inevitably be seen soon enough at the end-user's side.
If you are looking to explain Net Neutrality to Internet end-users, and
especially why it is under attack in the US, I suggest this video segment
<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpbOEoRrHyU>. Hosted by Jon Oliver, the
former Daily Show correspondent with his own show now on HBO, this
13-minute segment provides what is IMO one of the clearest (and cleverest)
explanations of the concepts, what is at stake, and a call to action for
Americans.
Note: Profanity exists in the original HBO broadcast, but it is bleeped
out in the YouTube version.
