Basically all the comments at

have been taken into consideration. I have also added a 'feature', i.e.
now you can remove the latest message from the mbox file by clicking a
button. ;-)
I've added the script to CVS. Unfortunately, the $Id$ has been
rewritten. I think there is way to get CVS to not do that, but
I cannot remember off-hand what is.
