Bad Free() ignored with Perl 5

1998-03-13 17:44:27
Hello,

FYI. I fixed my problem.

I have just installed MHonArch 2.0.2 and tried to convert a mail file
and got an error called:

"Bad Free() ignored" from perl.

I am using the following:

Perl 5
Solaris 2.6 (UNIX)
Mail file from Netscape Communicator 4.0 local directory
readable with mail and Sun Mailer (standard UNIX mail file format)

Listing of command:

lingcod:/home/wade/nsmail>mhonarc -outdir
/home/wade/public_html/dodge/list/979 twlist978

Checking for the correct Perl...
From the top of the installed mhonarch:

#!/usr/local/bin/perl

And the perl location and version:

lingcod:/home/wade/nsmail>/usr/local/bin/perl -version

This is perl, version 5.001

        Unofficial patchlevel 1m.

Uh oh... unofficial!

I remember now, I upgraded my solaris to version 2.6 since the last time
Perl was installed and I have been using the perl on the webserver which
is version 5.004!

Time to update my local Perl...

Ok, check new version:

perl -version

This is perl, version 5.004
Yes!

Try it again.

lingcod:/home/wade/nsmail>mhonarc -outdir
/home/wade/public_html/dodge/list/9710 twlist978

YEAH! Works as advertised!

Next problem:

Does not properly link JPG files. Drops attached filenames (uses
bin????n.bin instead of filename.jpg.
