Whoops, somebody take me out back and shoot me - I flagged the wrong
code in a previous posting.
To be fair, the code you quoted is probably still in CVS. The
fix I put in CVS was simply for the locking code to special case
attempts to lock "/dev/null" and do nothing :-)
