Should nmh have a second try if the first iconv fails and the charset is
in a new `alias' list? That would handle iconvs that don't yet know
unicode-1-1-utf-7. recode(1) has something similar IIRC.
Are there a lot of emails coming out in UTF-7? I was under the impression
it was on the way out and everyone was heading toward UTF-8. Doesn't seem
worth it to me, especially when the easy answer is "upgrade iconv".
