I'm in agreement. Consider the (hypothetical) case where the cleanup requires
fixing MIME section delimiter strings. Cleaning these up can mean touching the
entire contents of the 822 body.
Certainly there are other cases where MUAs play a bit loose with MIME syntax.
Not fixing this sort of thing globally has the potential to render large parts
of the message's content unreadable (where 'large' includes 'all).
It's entirely reasonable (expected, really) that the tool will address MIME
syntax and encoding issues throughout the message.
