Re: PEM CRL registration for storage in X.500 databases

Steve,

You write:

...I
have been told that it is frowned upon to register the SYNTAX of an
attrribute such as CRL, rather than the instance of it made specific
by algortihms (e.g., public key signature and key distribution
algorithms). Thus, it is appropriate to register PEM CRLS using RSA
as separate attributes with their own object identofiers.

Does this mean that the UCL registrations are underspecified? I couldn't
find where RSA is specifically mentioned in the PEM CRL definitions of
either Mike Roe or the syntax definitions of Peter Williams. I did see :

PKCSprivate: pkcsattributeType.1 :PKCS5
OSISECPrivateRSAKey: pkcsattributeType.2 :PKCS5

in Peter's message, but don't quite see how that gets tied back into the
PEM CRL registrations. I'm probably just confused.

Dan
