Hey: We need an object identifier for the email attribute. Is there

(IA5String) defined by PKCS #9?

The only other attribute I've seen is the "rfc822Mailbox" (RM) attribute
that I've been using in my draft, which came from the COSINE directory
stuff. Some have expressed concern about RM because it is experimental
and registered under UCL. I'll have a look at PKCS #9 tonight, but it
certainly sounds like a good bet. If others agree, I'll use it in mine
as well so that software that conforms to my draft will also be able to
extract the e-mail address from certificates from your responder.

If "emailAddress" is not suitable, we'll probably have to ask IANA for
some object identifiers. Anyone know the procedure for this?

Cheers,

Rhys.
