You're right I should have been more specific.
I'm trying to convert a text file in utf-8 encoding to utf-16. By not working
what i mean is that I'm not able to see the result of
the conversion neither in Notepad or Word. I've also tried to write the result
of word by word conversion to a MS Access database,
with similar results (in this case, it was even worse, because nothing was
written in the database).
I'm not saying there is a problem with module. Quite likely I'm doing some
mistake, but I never can see results when I use something
other than the utf8 function.

I saw your reference to the use of Unicode::String. Excuse me for
asking, but does it work? We've tried to several funtions from it
(utf16, ucs2,...) but the only one that seems to work is utf8?
Can you give me a test case that demonstrates what you mean by "does
not work"? I don't know any issues with this module.
