Also pine is too
user-friendly for my taste, i.e. it takes too many commands to do anything.
I use the following aliases to start pine up on a mailing list:
alias pml "pine -I 'i,;,s,n,;,b,s,i,;,b,s,a,z,w,' -f ~/MailLists/IN.\!*
-feature-list=save-will-not-delete"
alias pmls "pine -I 'i,;,s,n,;,b,s,i,;,b,s,a,z,w,' -f ~/MailLists/IN.\!*
-feature-list=save-will-not-delete -sort OrderedSubj"
E.g., to view the procmail list I type either:
pml procmail
or if I want it sorted by "OrderedSubj":
pmls procmail
Note that there is a CTRL+V (^V) in each of these aliases. Also note that
the reason I use "save-will-not-delete" is that I want to be able to save
messages and still have them stay in my procmail mailing list archive.
And finally note that all my mailing lists are kept in a directory called
~/MailLists and in folders name IN.maillistname
Good luck,
Nancy
PS - If nn used lock files I would use it to read my mailing lists.
