Got a question that I think it a simple one. Like just about everybody
the reason I started running procmail was to filter the hundereds of
pieces of mail I get in a day, but one thing I have noticed is that I now
have no way of know that there is new mail in a box. Is there a script or
another method that can notify me of new mail, without print a large
amount of stuff to the screen?

I did not see the original post, but I use something along the
lines of what might be userful to you. I have a perl (4) script I got
from somewbody else and adapted. It is invoked with a piddly front-end
shell script and displays how many messages are in each mail folder. I
invoke it from my login and can also invoke it from any shell prompt.
If you have a Web browser, you can get the scripts from my home page.
They may not be very elegant, but they work. Help yourself.
