Sounds like a permissions problem. Your HOME directory and .forward
should be world-readable.
Also, every directory leading to the procmail binary should be world
readable. Make sure that procmail can be executed by all users.
See my .forward file:
"|IFS=' '&&p=/users/ohrt/usr/bin/procmail&&test -f $p&&exec $p -Yf-||exit 75
#ohrt"
One last note: sheck the permissions on the /var/mail directory. If it's
not world writeable, you will need to change the default mailbox. (Unless
you can install procmail sgid mail.)
