You are quite correct. I accidentally edited that in my e-mail.
The actual rc file is correct. The problem is not that the recipie
doesn't work at all; the problem is that the recipie works only if the
original mail message with subject 'gimmie' is mailed to kbf.
Let me clarify this. Based on the verbose logs, th rc file correctly
matches appropriate headers sent to either 'kbf' or to
'kbf(_at_)phy(_dot_)duke(_dot_)edu'.
In the former case, formail shoots off an autoreply to sendmail, which
delivers it a-ok. But (!) in the latter case (full user name), either
the pipe to formail breaks or formail just doesn't work. That's why I
started making the paths explicit. Still no joy.
I will try to determine *exactly* where the failure is, e.g., broken
pipe, broken path, broken formail and report back to the list.
