Is a valid issue.  As is requesting how to do it. But if you object so to
using perl this way,you must also object to using sed in this fashion.
Yet, I don't recall you ever complaining about the use of sed to striip
elements out of mail.

I have no objections whatsoever to using sed, perl, awk, etc. to do
further processing on mail messages via procmail.  However, the exact
sed/perl/awk/whatever code is primarily of passing interest to
"procmail" itself.

Not that such things have no place here, as often things can be done
directly in procmail or with formail, or other suggestions for
optimizing the recipe can be made.  But procmail doesn't care if you
use perl, C, awk, or sed to strip HTML as long as the filter reads of
stdin and writes to stdout.
