Delivery-Date: was a qmail-ism, last time I checked.


4 control As come from (I also sometimes get ^B^A^A^A)
but at least I'm localised to looking at procmail/formail area now :-)

Four control-A's on a line by themselves mark the beginning and end of
each message in the MMDF mailbox format.  If a message contains four
control-A's already then the first one is turned into a control-B.

At this point, the only commonly used set of programs that I know of
that use the MMDF mailbox format with any regularity is the MH suite of
programs.  "packf", for instance, always writes out such a file.

Perhaps that suggests where you should start looking?
